Checklist: Microsoft 365 app and services deployments on Macs
It’s critical to plan Microsoft 365 apps and services deployments on Macs properly to avoid end-user frustrations. There are so many elements to consider that forward-thinking IT professionals should consider employing a checklist. With proper administration, IT departments can ensure important tasks aren’t overlooked, and users don’t need to return systems to the help desk for additional configuration or updates. But what items should a Microsoft 365 apps and services on a Mac checklist include?
Start at the beginning. Ensure the organization’s Microsoft 365 tenant account is properly updated and the correct corresponding Microsoft 365 account and services are enabled for the user. Don’t overlook details, either, such as setting the correct permissions, including the ability to create Teams meetings, access specific SharePoint sites, and so on.
Next, associate the corresponding Exchange, OneDrive, Teams and application configurations with the Mac. Depending upon imaging processes, doing so will likely require entering email configuration information within macOS Mail or downloading and installing Microsoft Outlook, after which other Microsoft productivity programs such as Word and Excel will require downloading and installing, as will Teams, OneDrive and similar programs.
